The scientific Instruments sector is one of the best prospects for U.S. exporters to Brazil. This sector is covered by a CS Brazil team working out of the Foreign Commercial Service office in Recife.
The team is looking for assistance in mapping the scientific Instruments environment in the U.S. Priority goals are identifying manufacturing clusters in the U.S., current characteristics of the sector’s exports to Brazil, relevant US business associations, trade events, etc.
Among other tasks, the selected student would have to be able to analyze and report on statistical data from the U.S. Census Bureau and other USG agencies.
The project may also include the development of a strategy for effectively reaching out to the U.S. business community to convey good export opportunities for them in Brazil.
We are looking for a student interested in business and economics to undertake a research project that will result in a tangible product at the end of this assignment. Ability to use MS Excel spreadsheets and build graphs will be valued. Portuguese not required but would be a bonus.
