Project Description

The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) commemorates the service, achievements, and sacrifice of U.S. armed forces where they have served overseas. ABMC's newly established Collections & Preservation Directorate (C&P) recently purchased The Museum System collections management software, which includes eMuseum - an interface to create monthly web exhibits directly from the collections management database.

The virtual intern will conduct research and develop monthly web exhibits for internal ABMC use and public access featuring ABMC collections including: historic photographs, historic documents, images of collection items, etc. ABMC recently purchased the software, few items have been accessioned or cataloged at this time so the virtual intern will also research online collections and archival sources to locate ABMC related materials such as the National Archives and Records Administration, newspapers, military records, etc. to augment the ABMC collection, as needed.
