Project Description

The US chairs the Arctic Council's Expert Group on Black Carbon and Methane, and is in the process of developing recommendations for enhanced action to reduce these super pollutants. Interns will conduct research and propose the most effective solutions for the Arctic States and participating Observer States to reduce emissions, with the expectation that a subset of these recommendations will be considered for adoption at the Council's Ministerial in 2017. Interns may also be asked to prepare briefing materials for senior officials on climate issues in the Arctic. This is a fast paced office so having someone that can commit a few hours a week, be flexible and respond in relatively short order with high quality products is desirable.
