Libya is a nascent democracy and expects to hold elections next year. This year, Libyans, like the rest of the world, are captivated by the U.S. presidential elections. The intern/coordinator will develop and host a series of English language sessions on the U.S. Embassy Libya Facebook page explaining the U.S. elections process. After the elections, the sessions will pivot to focus on forming the new government and the institutions of good governance (for example, the role of watchdog organizations and the press; the U.S. separations of powers—executive, legislative and judicial—and their unique responsibilities, etc.). The sessions will be in English and aim to improve the English language learning abilities of Libyan secondary and university students.
Self-starter; passion for government, politics and activism; organizational, communication (social media) and research skills.
