Project Description

The Republic of Korea’s (ROK) prominence continues to rise as its economy expands (13th largest according to the IMF) and it pursues initiatives globally on foreign assistance, science and technology, space, environment, nuclear security and safety, and information communication and technology. With its international engagement and connection to the global economy, the ROK is sensitive to external events affecting its economy and foreign initiatives. U.S. Embassy Seoul is looking for a Virtual eIntern to help assess the impact of these forces on the ROK. The Economic Section will coordinate with the eIntern on goals and objectives such as benchmarks and timelines. The eIntern will search through available media, including official ROK government websites, non-governmental websites, universities, think tanks, and media on any information, which would impact the ROK, whether it is a regional or global development. The eIntern will also assess the impact of these activities on the ROK.
