Singapore and Beijing have affirmed their close relationship and bilateral ties, deepening their cooperation in numerous areas, including economy, culture and education, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Singapore has positioned itself as a strong supporter for China's constructive engagement and peaceful development in the region. This Virtual Intern position will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on Singapore-China political and economic engagements, including the progress of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding to promote greater collaboration on BRI in third-country markets. Countries and sectors of focus will vary, but Embassy Singapore’s Economic and Political Section will have the opportunity to help identify and pursue a project of mutual interest over the course of the internship. Relevant classroom and/or job (e.g., internship, employment) experience includes national security, international economics, political science, legal, Chinese, Asia studies; overseas experience. Strong analytical, written, and communications skills required; a self-motivator with the ability to manage multiple work streams and deadlines.
Chinese would be welcome although not required
