Project Description

EducationUSA Armenia is part of the U.S. Department of State’s network of advising centers that provides accurate, comprehensive, and current information about U.S. higher education to local students. The comprehensive services and resources are provided by EducationUSA Armenia free of charge to all students in the country.

To ensure that the highly motivated and talented Armenian students have a chance at a U.S. higher education, EducationUSA Armenia has developed the Competitive College Club. This EducationUSA-branded cohort program guides members through the admissions process, helping each student identify programs are the best fit for their goals and how to get there. The selected VSFS intern will support Competitive College Club programming and assist Armenian students through peer advising, providing feedback on application essays, conducting virtual test-prep sessions, and giving virtual presentations about U.S. university life.

Leadership and Skill Development for the selected intern
The VSFS intern will gain:
International experience: through your interaction with Armenian high school and university students, learn about Armenian culture, improve your cross-cultural communication skills, and broaden your global awareness.
Leadership ability: by coaching and guiding the students you will develop your own discipline and situational awareness. You will be the one to inspire and empower the students.
Communication and problem-solving skills: develop strong interpersonal and communication skills through the facilitation of online events. While advising students, you will demonstrate strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Public presentation skills: you will gain confidence in public speaking through your virtual sessions and presentations.
Networking: develop networking skills through interaction with various departments in your institution, the EducationUSA adviser in Yerevan, Armenia, and Armenian students to ensure the professional implementation of the Competitive College Club program.
