Interns will follow and report on Mexican politics, including but not limited to the president, the administration, political parties, independent candidates, congress, legislation, public policies, public opinion, elections, civil society movements, anti-corruption/transparency efforts, and social issues that are part of public discourse. Interns will follow these topics by reading/watching/listening to Spanish and English-language publicly-available content, including newspapers; op-eds and blogs; television/radio programs; social media, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Periscope; and public statements by Mexican officials, thought leaders, and academics. Interns will work on specific projects relating to these topics, which will include regularly drafting and e-mailing U.S. Embassy officials English summaries of the online content and links to the original sources.
