We are looking for interns who would like to support our purchasing, sales, and leasing programs, which has projects in almost all countries around the world. These programs search and analyze strategic and economically sound Diplomatic Posts in regions around the world to do business. You will be asked to answer questions such as: Is this city overbuilt and does it present an opportunistic situation favoring the purchase of residences? Are property values trending upward or downward? Is it possible to buy property in bulk? Is it a good time to sell property? You will be tasked with questions like these which can be complex depending on where in the world you choose to focus. In particular, we are looking for interns interested in the following regions: East Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
There are opportunities to work on other regions such as Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East as well. Using open source information, you will be able to practice your economic analysis focusing in real estate markets, arrive at your own conclusions about whether it is a good time to buy, sell, or lease property, and write briefs that explain and provide evidence for your reasoning. An opportunity like this is unique as it will help the Department of State's Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations real estate investment priorities that will provide safe, secure, and strategic property to bolster U.S. diplomacy around the world.
