Project Code: STATE-AUT-10
|Project Title||Database Development Project - Voucher Book|
|Project Summary||Re-develop a database with a web interface supported by SQL, from a preexisting Microsoft Access 2000 database.|
|Agency||Department of State|
|Number of Interns||2|
Interns will be redeveloping “the voucher book,” a database that creates unique voucher numbers, processes payments, and includes searchable, scanned documents. It is used daily for transactions including tram passes, rent, OPEX payments, telephone and utilities, medical bills, and private sales tax reimbursements. This is a great opportunity to use relational database design and development skills to create a database using SQL Server.
This is a great opportunity to use relational database design and development skills to create a database using SQL Server.
This project will require a basic to intermediate level of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Server proficiency. In essence, each voucher will have a large amount of information associated with it, but the information will be managed through the separate queries that are generated by the user.
The design and development skills used for this project will easily transfer to other organizations that have a similar product catalog.
