|Project Title||Graphic Designer - Web Design|
|Project Summary||Design branded web-based visual media products to accompany posts published on the VAntage Point blog and other websites.|
|Agency||Veterans Affairs Department|
|Number of Interns||50|
Do you have an eye for detail? Consider joining VA’s office of Digital Media Engagement as a graphic design intern. Graphic design interns are responsible for planning, designing, developing, modifying and completing visual information projects for web-based visual media products which support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The graphics communicate with Veterans, their family members, and the public on matters affecting their daily lives from health care and insurance to monetary compensation and suicide prevention.
This graphic design team will be primarily responsible for creating visuals for VA's official VAntage Point blog. However, you are very likely going to be called upon to create graphics for other areas such as Facebook, Instagram, the VA's digital media internship blog and various other online platforms we manage.
Graphic design interns are expected to have a level of knowledge and experience using Adobe Photoshop. You will be expected to have your own computer and your own license for Adobe Photoshop as they will not be provided for a virtual internship. This has not seemed to be an issue for previous graphic design interns.
Please view our blog to see the various graphics types our team produces. http://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/category/veteran/. If you are selected for this internship, this is the level of work you will be expected to produce.
The Department of Veterans Affairs' Digital Media Engagement Team internship is one of the largest and most established internship programs available through the Virtual Student Federal Service. Last year, our internship had approximately 120 interns in various departments and leadership positions. If you want to join a team that is well structured and will offer meaningful work that will help you build skills that you can actually add to your resume, then you should definitely join our team.
