The Regional Environment, Science, Technology, and Health (ESTH) Hub for the Pacific – based in Suva, Fiji – covers ESTH issues across twenty-one Pacific countries and territories. The Pacific Hub aims to promote regional cooperation, data-sharing, and adoption of sound policies by working with bilateral ESTH officers at embassies and consulates in the region as well as with other U.S. Government (USG) agencies. Externally, the Hub engages in ESTH diplomacy, cooperating extensively with nongovernmental organizations, and regional organizations on environmental activities within their region.
One component of the Hub’s work is managing small grant programs. We are seeking an intern who could produce maps, info-graphics, and/or short success stories to highlight the small grants program and its accomplishments to date. One of the products we envision is a map or infographic that illustrates where our small grants have gone and what ESTH area they have focused on. A detail-oriented, creative intern could turn our grant files into appealing and easy-to-understand visual stories! As the Pacific region garners more attention on the global stage, this storytelling work is important background for future programmatic and policy design.
