The Office of Development Finance in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs is looking for a motivated and curious virtual intern with interest in international development issues.
You will track various viewpoints and related research on development issues and provide concise summaries to our Department of State economic officers. Your efforts will help U.S. diplomats to stay updated on the latest expert opinions and research on international development topics, particularly in Europe and Asia.
You will learn about the U.S. development policies and global development trends, develop strong writing skills by following the Department of State writing guidelines, and gain an understanding of the U.S. foreign policy making process.

The main skills and knowledge that we are looking for are intellectual curiosity, ability to write clearly and concisely, and a basic knowledge of global economic and development trends. Since writing will be a very important skill for this internship, we will ask the students selected for interviews to submit at least one writing sample.
