Project Code: USDA-USA-1
|Project Title||Learn how forests and management work together through data analysis and presentation|
|Project Summary||Does a stand of tree assemble randomly or by specific soils condition? Does forest management change that relationship? Based on this, how can management be used to facilitate tree diversity and wood product production? An available longterm study can help answer these questions.|
|Agency||Department of Agriculture|

In this project, you will work with a Forest Service scientist study forest trees, management, and soil microtopography. The data are available from a longterm silviculture study on the Argonne Experimental Forest in Wisconsin. Analyses will include general linear mixed models and multivariate analysis - experience or coursework on these topics in R required. Data will be summarized in graphs and tables showing data patterns and statistical output. Co-authoring posters and papers on the topic is optional.
