Project Description

The VA Digital Media Engagement Team’s Web Development Interns play an essential role in enabling online communications with interns and external stakeholders interested in Veterans Affairs. Web Development Interns are responsible for maintaining and continuously upgrading the DME Team’s official internship website (https://dmeinterns.org/), which was created at the end of the 2018-2019 year. Web Management Interns manage internship website permissions, work with other VA interns to save and present important internal information on password-protected parts of the website, and update the internship website to present accurate and current information for external parties.

Web Development Interns may also be called upon to install or update plugins and themes, modify WordPress settings, update theme settings, create sliders, edit pages using various page builders, update menus, widgets and page settings as well as managing users, updating SEO metadata, etc.

Web Development Interns also may be asked to offer perspective on modifications of the VA’s official VAntage Point blog (https://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/).
