Project Description

Our office produces a summary in plain English of the most relevant news stories for Washington audiences on the topics of environment, science, technology, and health. The interns would help us draft this weekly report. Usually the report includes 3 to 6 stories with each story being about 3-4 sentences long. Additionally, the interns might be asked to research and prepare short summaries on topics like: summarize the main data sources on Amazon deforestation rates; summarize the process Brazil's uses to certify legal versus illegal timber, or compile figures for trends in Brazilian government funding for S&T.
