Libya possesses an impressive collection of archaeological sites that few international scholars or tourists have seen. While other archaeological areas under threat, such as Syria and Iraq, have captured the world’s attention, few are aware of Libya’s treasures. We seek an intern to develop, and implement, a plan to form a virtual community of people—both professional and non-professional —with an interest in Libya’s cultural heritage. The intern will oversee a U.S. Embassy managed social media platform that will highlight the work of international professionals, academics, journalists, and photographers who are committed to preserving Libyan archaeological treasures.

The U.S. Embassy to Libya was evacuated from Tripoli in 2014 due to insecurity. Our Embassy is now a virtual team with staff in Tunisia and Libya and we welcome the contributions of our virtual interns based in the United States. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about U.S. policy priorities, sharpen your digital skills, meet experts in your field and gain practical insights on working as a member of a virtual team. Come and join U.S. Embassy Libya’s virtual team!
