Project Description

USGS researchers are often asked to make presentations at local schools or youth groups about different geoscience and environmental education topics. The e-intern will collaborate with the USGS Youth and Education in Science Office to develop all-encompassing lesson plans that scientists can use when they make presentations to schools. The e-intern will use maps, charts, photographs, and activities from the USGS and other agencies to create lesson plans on a variety of topics, and appropriate to different grade levels. The lesson plans, presentations, materials, and instructions will be assembled in an online “toolbox” that USGS scientists draw from. Think about the best classroom guests you experienced in school, and the worst. We want to equip USGS scientists with all they need to be remembered as the best.
