Project Description

This eIntern will conduct a brief research study to assess the feasibility of using virtual worlds as a learning tool in Federal Student Aid (FSA). Research requirements include cost analysis and demographic considerations. The result of the study is a list of recommendations and an approach to incorporate virtual world learning into FSA. Based on findings, the eIntern may develop virtual worlds that convey different learning and content exercises. Content and exercise development will be done in heavy collaboration with a subject matter expert in adult learning and behavioral change. The intern may do minimal research on actual content but primarily will focus on creating the virtual world and ensuring any learning tools that are developed are sustainable after the internship is complete. This may require the eIntern to train at least one FSA staff person on the basics of tool maintenance so the tool can be evaluated, revised, and possibly expanded.
