|Agency||Federal Aviation Administration|
|Number of Interns||3|
We are looking for energetic interns who could help us to develop a more robust system of tracking our airport development projects. The airport projects often require complex environmental permitting, financial planning, enabling work prior to the start of the work and many other factors that require shared tracking among a number of professionals in our regional office. Until now, we have been relying on more traditional checklists, forms and paper means to conduct our mission. We hope to transition to a more robust web-based means to track project status and better position ourselves to line up timing and execution of a $3 billion federal airport grant program. Our interns would spend time learning what an airport planner, airport engineer, airport certification inspector and others do to enhance the safety of the airspace system. They would also be in a position to help us navigate technology based solutions to our project tracking. While much of the work could be done virtually, it would be ideal if the candidates could spend some time with our staff out at airports and in the field.
If you are not near Boston, please look for other FAA opportunities that do not require proximity to the city!
