|Project Title||Social Media Intern for USAID|
|Project Summary||Social media internship with USAID's digital media management team.|
|Agency||Agency for International Development|
|Number of Interns||3|
With over 2.5 million followers, USAID’s flagship social media accounts are a vital gateway with which to tell the story of our impact around the globe. The ideal intern will use their storytelling and graphic design skills to craft social media content for U.S. and international audiences. The social media intern will help collect, create, and draft content for each of our four platforms and will pro-actively seek opportunities to drive, join, or share ongoing digital conversations that relate to USAID strategic priority areas. Interns with graphic design and videography experience will also have the opportunity to create pictograms, GIFs, infographics, video snippets and other visuals. Your USAID supervisor is open to new ideas and will happily brainstorm new projects and ideas for our social platforms.
What you can expect from this internship:
- Weekly check-in calls where you will be tasked with new projects, and where you can ask any questions on the previous weeks content/projects
- Progressive learning: you won't be doing mundane tasks, you will be doing a range of things that any communicator working as a social media manager would be doing in a regular job: drafting a content calendar, creating social media posts and graphics, accessing data and metrics to inform best practices, writing and updating social media guides and more.
- A mentor with 10+ years of experience international development experience, nine of which has been spent working at USAID- and a mentor who cares about your progression as a communicator and will work with you to create valuable experiences and products that will have an impact on your resume.
