Are you passionate about American movies, culture, food, holidays, and everything that makes America unique? Do you love meeting people from new countries and have you always wanted to learn about Libya? The U.S. Embassy Libya External Office is looking for interns to manage the third year of USA Café - our virtual American Space for Libyans. This is a unique opportunity to design the direction of U.S. Embassy Libya’s virtual space where Libyan students and young professionals can learn about American culture by interacting with American students. USA Cafe is managed through a closed Facebook group. Interns are expected to engage with USA Café’s audience by leading monthly Facebook Live conversations on the group, designing and sharing creative content in coordination with a U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Specialist, and fostering engagement and positive interaction with members on the group.

The U.S. Embassy to Libya was evacuated from Tripoli in 2014 due to insecurity. Our Embassy now operates as the Libya External Office based in Tunis, with a virtual Public Affairs team with staff in Tunisia and Libya. We welcome the contributions of diverse virtual interns based in the United States. This internship offers a unique opportunity to "meet" Libyan students and young professionals and gain social media-specific presentation skills. Come and join U.S. Embassy Libya’s virtual team!
