|Project Title||Help make our health program interesting and sexy!|
|Project Summary||USAID/Nigeria's Health Office seeks assistance to design a variety of communications materials that effectively communicate important health and programmatic information in an interesting and understandable way.|
|Agency||Agency for International Development|
|Number of Interns||2|
USAID/Nigeria currently relies on a suite of highly technical and perpetually dry fact sheets and powerpoint presentations to communicate the dire health situation among the citizens of Nigeria as well as our activities to address that. Communications materials often do not present important information in an interesting way, or present too much information in a confused manner. Materials are also not differentiated by audience, so both internal (USAID and broader USG) and external audiences (Government of Nigeria, Nigerian public, NGOs, other donors) often receive the same information.
The USAID/Nigeria Health Team needs assistance to develop and implement a strategy to rectify this situation. We need help to design materials that hold audiences' interest and quickly communicates both the overall health situation in the country and important details of our program.
We are looking for a self-starter and self-motivator for this project. The in-country team will be able to provide varying levels of support throughout the internship period, but all interactions and oversight will be conducted through video teleconference, phone calls, and email.
While an interest in international development would be helpful to maintain interest in the program, it is not required. Public health knowledge and experience is not required and, in fact, a lack of such skills may prove to be useful for this work.
