The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) trains Diplomats in over 70 languages. The more practice they get speaking their target language, the more prepared they will be for their language exam, and most importantly, to do their job at post. We are looking for native Lao speakers to converse with our Foreign Service Officers in an informal setting, by either phone or video chats. Conversations may start out very basic, on every day topics, and will become more sophisticated as the Diplomats advance in their training. By speaking Lao with our Diplomats, you will have a unique opportunity to help them improve their language competence and to learn from them all about their careers, while you discuss Lao culture, history, and current events with future representatives of the United States to Laos.
