Project Description

The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) trains diplomats in over 70 languages. The more practice they get speaking their target language, the more prepared they will be for their language exam, and most importantly, to do their job at post. We are looking for native KiSwahili speakers to converse with our Foreign Service Officers in an informal setting, by either phone or video chats. Conversations may start out very basic, on every day topics, and will become more sophisticated as the Diplomats advance in the training. By speaking with our Diplomats, you will have a unique opportunity to help them improve their language competence, as well as to discuss history, politics and culture with a future representative of the United States to Tanzania or Kenya.
