Project Description

As a Researching intern for the VA's DME team, you will collaborate with editors and writers to research and fact-check submitted information and provide additional context for print and web-based products that may include video and audio podcasts. You will also work with graphic designers to ensure their work is period correct, contains accurate information, and is appropriate to communicate the information accurately. Additionally, you will check sources of images used in blog post graphics to ensure that they are applicable to the content and copyright free. Our content is published across multiple social media channels with well over a million followers. Any piece of content we publish may be seen by tens of thousands of people. So, when we publish a story honoring a Veteran, we have to be very sure that we get all of the facts correct. If we do not get the facts correct, it is an embarrassment to our team; but, more importantly, it's a disservice to the Veteran. Your assistance will ensure that we give each Veteran the respect that they are due. The Department of Veterans Affairs' Digital Media Engagement Team internship is one of the largest and most established internship programs available through the Virtual Student Federal Service. This past year, our internship has hosted over 300 interns in various departments and leadership positions. If you want to join a team that is well structured and will offer meaningful work that will help you build skills that you can add to your resume, then we strongly encourage you to apply to our team.
