Research and analyze open source reporting (NGO reports, digital newspapers, social media) to document reports of human rights and religious freedom issues in Sri Lanka. Coordinate with U.S. Embassy Colombo’s Human Rights Officer to identify areas for further investigation. Your research will be used to draft the Department of State’s annual Human Rights and International Religious Freedom Reports and other political reporting. These Congressionally mandated reports provide the Ambassador and policy makers in Washington with clear and balanced accounts of conditions in-country and give policy makers a solid foundation on which to push the government for better human rights and religious freedom practices.
