Project Description

This internship is for those who want to work with and support a group of high school students in the Competitive College Club (CCC) develop their skills so they can become competitive applicants to U.S. colleges and universities. The intern will develop their cross-cultural, communication, presentation, management, and leadership skills as they work with Moldova’s Competitive College Club.

The intern will not only gain practical experience in international student advising but be able to create and develop a program which is still in its infancy. EducationUSA Moldova’s Competitive College Club is only one year old, so the intern will be able to help create and develop the program content which will be used for future years.

EducationUSA Moldova is looking for one intern to work with a cohort of approximately 30 Moldovans in the CCC seeking admission to undergraduate programs in the U.S. The intern will engage with students by leading virtual workshops and presentations on the U.S. admissions process, campus and American culture, and sharing their own college experiences; the intern will also help develop the students’ academic and creative essay writing by giving assignments, proofreading essays, and co-leading book discussions. These sessions will be held bi-monthly, in addition to monthly individual student sessions. The intern will also be responsible for creating social media content about the Competitive College Club for Moldovan audiences.

The intern selected for the project will work under the supervision of the EducationUSA adviser in Chisinau and engage with students in the country-wide Competitive College Club program. This internship with EducationUSA supports the U.S. Embassy’s public diplomacy goals for Moldova.
