Develop a meaningful mentor relationship with Russian prospective graduate students. Participate in an internship that you can take ownership of. Gain program management, seminar facilitation, and assessment experience. Work closely with your internship supervisor. Take on a project that will allow you to develop important transferable skills in such fields as academic writing, academic integrity, writing a successful statement of purpose (in STEM and social sciences), CV and resume writing, public speaking, and mock interviews.
The GSAp is a long-term, intensive preparatory program for Russian prospective graduate students interested in applying to American higher education institutions. The program started in October 2019 and proved to have high interest from students. As an intern assigned to this program, you will need to facilitate up to 12 sessions per 6 months. Each topic will be repeated twice to accommodate 11 time zones. Generally, one session will be held around 7 pm Moscow time on a weekday and another will be held around 12 pm Moscow time either on a weekday or weekend.
We hope that this course will allow students to improve their command of the English language, gain skills for writing successful statement of purposes, and compile CVs and resume as a part of their application package.
Presentations, materials, and templates for most of these sessions are available. It will be up to the responsible intern in conjunction with the EducationUSA Russia adviser, to review existing materials and/or develop new materials.

The VSFS program opens up opportunities to build long-term relationships with Russian university students along with young professionals, advance students’ awareness of the American higher education system, and contribute to professional development. This is your chance to participate in establishing collaboration and promote humanitarian ties between the two nations.
“My year-long VSFS internship with EducationUSA Russia was extremely rewarding. The team in Moscow was very responsive to my questions and eager to offer feedback as I prepared presentations and materials for a group of 40+ students. I found student participants to be active and respectful during my delivery of online sessions on topics like Academic Writing and Statement of Purpose Writing. Lastly, while working with students on admissions essays for U.S. universities, I truly had the feeling that I was helping them achieve their dreams”, said Angela Heck, VSFS Intern 2019-2020.
We welcome applicants with experience in soft skills development, peer-to-peer leadership, teaching, or youth program development and facilitation.
