USAID hosts the Secretariat of the Global Book Alliance, an international partnership that focuses on ensuring the availability of affordable, appropriate and accessible books in local languages to support children's literacy development. The Alliance works in two ways: 1) by supporting flagship initiatives that address key challenges in the book supply chain, and 2) by building and sharing knowledge globally.
The main focus of this internship will be on advancing the Alliance's knowledge building efforts by assisting with a comprehensive review of available literature on issues across the book supply chain. The role will involve identifying, cataloging, and analyzing available data, and entering data into a database. Depending on time and bandwidth, the intern may also help to synthesize available data, and may assist the Alliance secretariat in others ways (ex. support for Steering Committee meetings, supporting communications work, etc.
