In this internship, you will work closely with the Regional Educational Advising Coordinator (REAC) and EducationUSA advisers running Competitive College Club (CCC) programs in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. The CCC Regional Congress is a pilot project designed to increase collaboration between high school students in these 7 CCC national chapters. The goal is to give student leaders ownership of region-wide initiatives that will serve to develop a peer network in Eurasia, promote student success in the application process to U.S. higher education institutions, and prepare students for integration onto U.S. campuses.
The pilot Competitive College Club Regional Congress aims to include 35-40 student leaders who would work in subcommittees to provide region-wide programming. Subcommittees will be based on student interests and needs but could include test preparation, book discussions, leadership/volunteerism, and team building. You will provide professional development training to students on planning and implementing programming, as well as, providing content support. Most live sessions would take place during the week at 19:00 UTC+3 and/or at 14:00 UTC+3 on a weekends. You will also get the chance to collaborate with other VSFS interns selected for country-level support, and as needed, you may assist them with their programming.
This internship is ideal for you if you want to develop your own skills in virtual collaboration and leadership, cross-cultural communication, and program management. You will also learn more about potential careers in public diplomacy, international education, and youth development.
