Project Description

Bring your communications knowledge and familiarity with websites and social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn to bear on the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC)’s outreach efforts and messaging on key issues that affect all Americans. Learn more about the threats that America faces from foreign adversaries as they seek to undermine U.S. credibility and leadership around the world and damage our economic advantage. Research topics that are timely and draft content to be posted online and used in our outreach efforts. One day you may be focused on writing tweets to reflect what happened on this day in espionage history. The next day you may be reviewing media reporting on threats to our power grid and developing messaging for the private sector grid operators and government regulators. You’ll help communicate about threats to the 2020 Presidential election this fall. If you have graphic design skills, we’ll ask you to propose visual ways to effectively communicate the message. You’ll be able to take advantage of access to experts in the Counterintelligence and Security community to learn more about this vital mission and help us reach new audiences in new ways.

You will be part of the team that leads the communications efforts of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center. NCSC is part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and has whole-of-nation responsibilities and authorities to carry out its mission to protect national security. Our reach extends across the Federal Government; to State, Local, and Tribal governments; foreign partners; the private sector; and the American public.

This broad engagement supports the goals of protecting America from foreign intelligence services who seek to harm us, promoting American prosperity by protecting our economy from foreign adversaries who seek to steal our technology and intellectual property, and preserving peace and security by going on the offensive against aggressive foreign intelligence services that work against democracy.

The selected individuals will have the opportunity to work with NCSC throughout the year on our communications program, and also build an enduring relationship with Counterintelligence and Security professionals with broad networks in the field. In addition to the knowledge you will bring to NCSC, this opportunity will serve as an excellent introduction into our world and help refine and advance your career aspirations.
