Project Description

Do you want to equip America's spies with the tools they need to thrive in this ever-changing world? Are you interested in learning about the "business of intelligence"--in other words, how stuff actually works behind the scenes? Do you want to use your curiosity and creativity skills to support our national security? Are you willing to try new things, learn from missteps, and grow as a professional? Then this is the internship for you.

You may already be familiar with CIA, NSA, and FBI, but did you know that there are actually 17 federal agencies ("elements," technically) in the Intelligence Community? The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) helps these agencies work in a more integrated fashion, share lessons learned, and move forward together. Within ODNI, the Office of Transformation and Innovation is leading the IC on topics that will be game changers in the 21st century, such as augmenting intelligence with machines, rethinking where and how our work takes place, and improving how the IC partners with the private sector. We are looking for 4-5 virtual interns to support these efforts. You will help us create training materials that help people across the IC to innovate more successfully--whether that's using machines to triage data, piloting a new recruitment program, or working with startups more effectively. Your work may include interviewing experienced innovators and documenting their sage advice, drafting primers on key innovation activities such as pitch days, and even creating your own multimedia "master class" series on how to employ your favorite entrepreneurial tradecraft tricks.

If you've ever considered working in the Intelligence Community, or are debating between government and the startup world, this is the opportunity for you!
