Project Description

China is expanding its scientific relations with Africa through a variety of trainings, student exchange programs and scholarships, and is focused on information technology and agriculture, but its influence and expansion into other scientific fields is increasing. This position will provide a much needed optic into China's growing influence in Africa's S&T and R&D ecosytem. Research will include analysis of China's unethical use of emerging technologies, forced technology transfers, funding mechanisms, intellectual property concerns, scientific norms, etc.
