Project Description

As Beijing's actions increasingly threaten American interests in the economy, security, and shared values, it is critical to identify and counter malign behavior where it exists. An intern interested in better understanding the nature of China's ambitions and activities can play a critical role in countering Beijing’s malign behavior. The intern will research publicly available sources, identify actions (travel, social media, statements, engagements) of government officials (Dutch and Chinese), political figures, companies, institutions, and private citizens to compile into a tracker. Based on observations and analysis of these engagements, the intern will offer trends and contribute to reporting that can be used to help policy makers shape decisions, as well as inform the Embassy’s public messaging strategy. Mandarin language skills would helpful, but not required.
