Environment, science, technology and health (ESTH) issues play a dynamic role in East and Southeast Asia's economic and political spheres, and are key areas of regional U.S. engagement. Your primary task would be to review English-language media and news articles focused on ESTH issues and compile a bi-weekly round-up of 3-5 articles (3-4 sentence summaries) for broad distribution within the State Department and other U.S. agencies. The virtual intern will occasionally be tasked with analyzing specific areas to include subjects such as wildlife trafficking, emerging infectious diseases, hydropower development, Chinese activities in the Mekong region, climate change, and other exciting ESTH trends in this dynamic region.

The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok distributes a bi-weekly round-up of articles based on the research of our virtual intern. In order for us to meet our deadline, we need summaries from our intern to be sent to us every two weeks. Specific times will be arranged once an intern is selected.
