Project Description

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is a partnership between government, academia, and the private sector focused on cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. The mission of NICE is to energize and promote a robust network and an ecosystem of cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. NICE fulfills this mission by coordinating with government, academic, and industry partners to build on existing successful programs, facilitate change and innovation, and bring leadership and vision to increase the number of skilled cybersecurity professionals helping to keep our Nation secure.

The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education leads the National Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week (NCCAW) which focuses local, regional, and national interest to inspire, educate, and engage citizens to pursue careers in cybersecurity. The week-long campaign provides an opportunity to learn about the contributions and innovations of cybersecurity practitioners, and the wide range of job opportunities that can be found when exploring cybersecurity as a career choice.

We are seeking an Intern to help us develop engaging content that helps demystify work roles in cybersecurity and inspires others to learn more about career opportunities and pathways in cybersecurity. Tasks may include:
• Reviewing current digital outreach content and efforts and assessing effectiveness,
• Providing ideas for social media content and drafting potential social media messaging
• Creating videos or content to promote career awareness and engage multi-generational target audience and capture the attention of a diverse demographic audience.

Familiarity with cybersecurity careers is a plus, but learning is part of this internship experience.
