Project Description

The Mekong flows through six countries and is critical to environmental and economic interests for all. From biodiversity and droughts to national sovereignty and food sovereignty, the impacts are extensive and connected. Your research will focus on trade on the Mekong to inform U.S. policy recommendations in Thailand.

Help us answer critical questions, then organize, analyze, and make proposals. How much trade is entering and leaving Thailand via the Mekong river? Is there additional opportunity to use the Mekong as a transportation route, or are other transportation methods faster and cheaper? What countries, what industries, and what companies use the Mekong to facilitate trade?
