Project Description

The Bureau for Resilience and Food Security (BRFS) is the lead agency supporting the U.S. Government’s global hunger and food security initiative known as Feed the Future. In this role, BRFS addresses the root causes of poverty, hunger, and malnutrition in twelve countries throughout the world. To achieve these goals, Feed the Future works hand-in-hand with partner countries to develop their agricultural sectors, break the cycle of poverty and hunger, and generate prosperity for all.

You will work with the Diversity Council within the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security to support the diversity and inclusion mentoring stream. Your tasks will be varied and structured to align with your interests and career objectives as much as possible. You will be supporting a team running an internal mentoring program with a focus on career development. You will brainstorm ideas to meet strategic goals with team members, propose event speakers and work with selected speakers on logistics, research and recommend career development resources, propose recruiting strategies to attract a broader range of candidates for open positions, organize campus-based events to educate students about working for USAID, and assist in writing blogs, producing vlogs, and hosting webinars. If you are interested, you will also be invited to provide research on inclusive development and/or local capacity development.
