Project Description

The USAID Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Program in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs is critical to the Agency’s global communications and outreach activities. DOCs are strategic communications professionals who promote foreign aid within the international communities the Agency serves. The DOC program supports over 180 DOCs across 70 missions worldwide who have diverse professional backgrounds. The support the DOC program provides includes training and curriculum development, online peer-learning platform management, and regular communications guidance to ensure the field remains supported by Washington.

What you can expect from this internship:
- Weekly check-in calls where your team answers your questions, tasks you with new work, and supports your professional development
- Hands-on experience working with a strategic communications team supporting communicators around the world. You can expect tasks that will support data analysis requests, training event logistics, program coordination, content development, and database management.
- A team of mentors from a variety of backgrounds invested in your growth throughout the internship and beyond.

This internship is open to up to three individuals. The estimated time commitment is 10 hours/week. You will be able to network and work with a range of communicators at USAID and learn the intricacies of working within a government agency.
