The National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) Supply Chain and Cyber Directorate is seeking virtual interns with a strong interest in social media platforms to identify the content and reference sources of information that is posted (and re-posted) on these platforms. This open source research project will require an understanding of the most popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and others, as well as knowledge of how to verify the source or reference of a posting.
Your job will be to leverage your school’s resources to review open source materials to analyze and report on trending topic areas and their sources. We are not seeking a simple catalog listing of these topics, but rather a comparative analysis on the type and variety of sources used to support (or refute) a given topic, the frequency over a 3 to 9 month period, and the most referenced sources. This will support the mission of the authenticity of products and services.
You will work virtually with NCSC Supply Chain Senior Program Experts, who will provide more detailed guidance and feedback on your work. This will allow you an opportunity to see what areas correlate to topics of interest to policymakers throughout the year and how the Intelligence Community informs policy.
In addition to the knowledge you will bring to NCSC, this opportunity will serve as an excellent introduction to the CI and Security domain, helping to build an enduring relationship with professionals with broad networks in the field while shaping and advancing your career aspirations.
