Saudi Arabia remains one of the United States' closest allies. While millions of Saudis have studied, worked, and lived in the United States, the reverse is not true. One aspect of Saudi Arabia's culture that differs substantially from the United States is its tribal make-up. As the United States works to enhance its understanding of Saudi Arabia's history and culture, the Consulate General in Jeddah's Political Economic section is seeking to produce an aesthetically pleasing, user friendly, digital interactive map of Saudi Arabia's different tribes for internal use, with clickable and expandable information sections to aid in this effort. The Consulate will provide all content to the developer and will serve as the main point of contact for the execution of the project. The intern must have advanced technical, programming, GIS, and data visualization skills, and be able to proactively propose technical solutions to represent data. No knowledge of Saudi Arabia, foreign affairs, or Arabic is required, only advanced technical skills.
