|Project Title||Friends of Libya Cultural Heritage Coordinator|
|Project Summary||Be the intern/coordinator to establish and nurture an American, Libyan and worldwide virtual community in support of protecting and preserving Libya’s archaeological treasures.|
|Agency||Department of State|
|Number of Interns||1|
Libya possesses an impressive collection of archaeological treasures. While other areas, such as Syria and Iraq, have the world’s attention on their cultural heritage, few are aware of Libya’s treasures. We seek an intern to develop, and implement, a plan to form a virtual community of people—both professional and non—with interest in Libya’s cultural heritage. The intern will reach out to appropriate professionals, academics, journalists, etc. to form a network, develop a social media site for shared communication, and generate content of interest to the network on the status of Libyan archaeological treasures.
Self-starter; passion for history, culture and archaeology; organizational, communication (social media) and research skills. Persuasive writing skills.
Coordinate with the Public Affairs Officer at the Libya External Office which sponsors a number of cultural heritage projects in Libya.
