|Project Title||MOOC? What’s that? An introduction to Massive Open Online Courses|
|Project Summary||Be the intern/coordinator to explain MOOCs to Libyans and open a world of American education to them.|
|Agency||Department of State|
|Number of Interns||2|
Libya has been isolated from the United States for decades but Libyans are eager for American education. We seek an intern who can explain MOOCs to Libyans. We envision monthly sessions which explain what MOOCs are, how to find them, how to use them, and how they can help Libyans understand and prepare for other American education opportunities (like perhaps actually studying the U.S.). Session can be based on our U.S. Embassy Libya Facebook page or migrate to another appropriate platform. Sessions may feature specific providers—Coursera, EdEx, Khan Academy, MIT OpenCourseWare, specific colleges and universities—and/or featured subjects such as STEM, English, history, philosophy, business, etc.
Self-starter; passion for education and sharing knowledge; organizational, communication (social media) and research skills.
