Did you know that the United States exports over $100 billion in agriculture every year? The diversity of U.S. agriculture not only includes wheat, potatoes, corn, oranges, apples, poultry, beef, pork, lobsters, and salmon, but also soybean, flowers, wine, oil seeds, and seeds. In the 21st century, farming continues to transform with the introduction of new technology in management and distribution, and agriculture biotechnology is changing farming worldwide. At the Office of Agriculture Policy in EB, we need someone to help us keep track of developments in agriculture and policies affecting our nation’s ability to trade in agricultural products. Every week, the intern will be expected to assist officers in writing one paragraph reports and to provide a weekly summary. By the end of the program, the intern will produce a paper analyzing the trends identified from the daily reports. The intern will develop a system and a shared database of contacts of this office.
